FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We have employees going in and out of freezers. Will Frog Spit® work?
Absolutely. You will need to apply Frog Spit® to the outside and the inside of these optics. Here is why. Fogging on both sides will occur when you optics are moved from a very cold environment to a warmer one. While working in a cool environment fogging on the inside of your lenses may occur from your warmer body heat and exhaling of your warmer breath can cause the outside to fog. It’s important to apply Frog Spit® in an ambient temperature above 35 degrees and let it dry. We have found that our Anti-Fog Wipes work best for application on face masks, goggles and safety eyewear. We would be happy to send you a sample to try and see for yourself how well Frog Spit® works in these environments.
Some of my team members have prescription lenses or glasses. Will Frog Spit® work on those? Is it safe to use if their lenses have special coatings?
Yes, Frog Spit® is safe for all types of lenses and optics. In rare cases with certain coatings (UV, non-glare, etc.) you may get a slight rainbow effect, which will still give you the anti-fog protection. If those employees happen to have a Hydrophobic (repels water) coating like Crizal® or Nanoclear®, Frog Spit® will not work at all, because Frog Spit® is water-based. Also, if your employees are wearing prescription lenses under protective eyewear, you will need to coat both sides of the protective eyewear and the prescription lenses to completely prevent fogging.
Question: I notice that you have sold bottles as well as the packaged wipes. Which is better for industrial uses?
Nearly all of our industrial users prefer the Anti-fog Wipes which are better suited for use on protective eyewear used in a factory setting. These soft towelettes/wipes come in individual foil packets which are easy to carry and will not spill. Each wipe has a pre-measured amount of Frog Spit® to insure the perfect application. While the bottle is a favorite for diving masks and swim goggles. Applying from the bottle also employees to apply Frog Spit® with a finger which is not ideal for larger applications like SCBA’s,face shields and respirators. Also the wipe always has a clean applicator surface each time you open one. So, your employees will not grind the lenses with dust or dirt on there hands or that has accumulated on the lenses. Last, the individual Anti-Fog Wipes are compact, won’t spill and are easy to distribute among you employees instead of trying to share a single bottle of Frog Spit®.
FROG SPIT® Commercial and Industrial FAQs
I have guys spraying hot water and/or steam cleaning parts and equipment? Can Frog Spit® help?
Yes, but, because Frog Spit® is water-soluble, if there is excess water mist that collects on the lenses this can eventually remove the anti-fog protection. Certainly Frog Spit® may not last as long as it would under drier conditions. Also, if you are using sealed goggles they will work better than open-air safety glasses. We would be happy to send you a sample to try and see for yourself how well Frog Spit® works in this environments.

My bathroom mirror is always fogging up when I take a shower will Frog Spit® work?
Yes. Our Anti-Fog Wipes work great for smaller areas, maybe 12”x12”. If you want to apply a larger area you may want to consider our “No Fog Kit” which comes with six Anti-Fog Wipes, a 2 oz. Bottle of Frog Spit® and a 4 ¼” Applicator. Simply apply Frog Spit® to the applicator and cover a 4 ¼”inch area with each swipe. Remember to all ways start with a clean dry surface before you apply and let dry. Because of the large amount moisture that can accumulate of the mirror from your shower you may have to apply every week or so if you get any fogging.
